Best tea? One bag per cup, but you won’t know the difference if you use 1 bag per 2-cup mug as long as you steep longer than package directions. You’ll still get a bracing cup.
Tea must be made in a teapot, to be made properly. Fill the teapot with hot water to “hot the pot”, while you boil the water. Boil fresh water in a kettle, and pour over the tea bag(s) in the teapot. If you don’t have a tea cosy to keep it hot, wrap a towel around the teapot.
Let steep for 5 minutes.
The important part is that the water must be bubbling hot. Most American kettles only bring the water just to a boil. It needs to be really boiling hard to properly steep the tea and bring out the flavour.
1 bag/cup. Pour the boiling water into the cup & steep for 5 minutes, anymore and it becomes bitter. Remove tea bag & add your preferences (milk, sugar, honey…). This is for black tea.
