Before I did all that, I would go to a pet store like PETCO and get a spray bottle of Nature's Miracle. It's a pet stain remover, but i have used it successfully on all sorts of carpet stains. Will not damage your carpet and might save you a lot of unnecessary work,

Just follow the instructions on the plastic bottle, that is, spray the contents liberally on the spot , let sit for about 5 minutes and then blot with good absorbent paper towels lIke Viva or a regular soft absorbent cloth. Then rub clean with fresh paper towel or cloth.

Hi there, I'm going to treat your problem the same way I would if you had Nylon carpet. It's my understanding that the two fibers clean up the same way.
1. blot up as much moisture as possible. Spray the affected area with an Ammonia solution ( 1 Tbsp to 1/2 cup of water), this will neutralize the stain.
2. apply a small amount of detergent solution (1/4 teaspoon to 1 qt. water) to the spot. blot with a white paper towel to work detergent into the affected area. Continue until spot is removed.
3. using a spray bottle, rinse with tap water. blot up moisture.

If this doesn't work: moisten the tufts of the affected area with 3% hydrogen peroxide and let stand for one hour. blot and repeat until stain is gone. because peroxide changes to water in light, there is no need to rinse. apply a wad of paper towels and weigh down with a brick or book, bruch up the pile of your carpet after it is completely dry.
