I’m not sure where you can go in Toronto but I order my tea online at Totally tea-riffic. They have matcha tea which is a great quality powdered green tea.

I am a former chef and also live in Toronto, I go to 2 different places, for my chinese one along with my loose white tea, Ten-Ren on Dundas at Huron, one block east of Spadina, on the same side as the Royal Bank acrossed the street from the Chinese church.

But for the best Japanese type, I go the Sanko on QueenSt at Strathcona, just west of Bathurst, 2 blks west of the Beer Store. They have the best Sencha and Bancha style, it is a bit pricey but is the best in my opinion, I worked in Tokyo for 9 months and had alot of different kinds and levels of quality.

China town in downtown Toronto is huge, and also has my favorite restaurant..

Anyway I never had any problem finding tea there, Go in and out of the various stores no doubt you will find anything and everything your looking for.
